Many of the kits available on the market are designed to be assembled by one or two people and you shouldn’t need much, if any, previous building experience or special tools. The biggest advantage to using a metal building kit is cost: they work out at half the price of a conventional building, or even less (obviously, if you’re building it yourself, you will be saving 100% of the construction costs). They are also more or less maintenance-free, quick to construct, durable and cheap to insure.
The average metal building kit is constructed from galvanized steel, though some feature aluminum lap siding over a steel frame. A quality model will last many years. There are broadly speaking two main designs on the marketplace, those with pitched rooves and those with arched ones. Some building kits are provided with metal floors, others may require a concrete footing.
Metal building kits are available for use as agricultural buildings, storage sheds, RV covers, carports, garages and guardhouses. The companies which supply prefabricated metal buildings will normally be able to customize them to your requirements.
